Tsavorite gemstones are sourced from East Africa, specifically from Tanzania and Kenya. It is impossible to determine the exact origin of these precious gemstones. In the late 1960s and early 1970s, a brilliant green grossular garnet was discovered in Tanzania and later on the Kenya side of the border in the Taita Taveta district. This new gemstone, named "Tsavorite" after the renowned Tsavo National Park in Kenya, gained worldwide recognition after being introduced to the market by Tiffany & Co in New York.
